L. Richard Zalek, GRI, CRS, ITI, SRES
 
Rick Zalek can claim more than 30 years in the real estate arena, as a sales associate, manager, recruiter and trainer. He currently holds both an Associate Broker license from the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission and a Broker Appraiser certificate from the Pennsylvania Appraisal Board. He has earned the GRI (Graduate REALTORS® Institute), the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), the ITI (Instructor Training Institute) and the SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designations from the National Association of REALTORS®.

In addition to being an approved Real Estate Instructor, Rick still practices real estate brokerage on a daily basis.  Rick has taught pre-licensing courses for the Harrisburg REALTORS® Institute for many years in addition to teaching REALTOR® Continuing Education and Designation courses throughout the state of Pennsylvania.  Rick instructs on what he refers to as the "Tri - L - Basis" of Education and assures that you will learn something.

Martha S. Garrett, Associate Broker, ABR, SRES

Marti began her real estate career more than 31 years ago, as an administrative assistant for a local commercial realty company. Her enthusiasm for real estate began in 1978 with her first pre-licensing course here at GHAR. Two years prior to that, Marti received her BA in English from Bucknell University and a Pennsylvania Certification in Secondary Education.

 After a twenty year hiatus spent raising a family, being an active member of her church and community, and attending Dickinson School of Law, Marti returned to real estate full time in 1999. Since 2001, Marti earned her Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, the Seniors Real Estate Specialist  (SRES) designation, and most recently, her Associate Broker License in 2009. Through her local brokerage company, Marti has earned both the Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) and Residential Relocation Specialist (RRS) designations. As far as she is concerned, the more education a broker/agent can obtain, the better!  However, Marti is most proud of being the 2004 recipient of GHAR's Professional Merit Award for outstanding service to Community, Association, and Education.

With her enthusiasm for education, whether buyers, sellers, or prospective sales agents, combined with her experience in sales, training and management, Marti enjoys teaching pre-licensing courses for the Harrisburg REALTORS® Institute and producing “RESULTS…WITH A SMILE”.
